LIFE, DEATH -- PART II

"M passed away at 3.00am today." The SMS was short (as it is meant to be) yet so final. Yes, he is gone. And I will never see him, talk to him, again. Ever.
Shocked, I sat down, and in a blur my mind went back to the last two phone conversations that I had with M. One in November, and the other in January. Not once did he mention that he was ill.
I had no idea. And the last time I saw him was way too long ago.
We ended each of the calls with a promise to catch up. But we never did. And the worst part is, I don't think I really meant my words. They were just empty promises, small talks, something to end the conversations with.
Horrible old me.
Al-Fatihah.

Again, sorry to hear it. My condolence to you and his family. Well.. we just don't know what's written in His Book. Otherwise, we could prevent many things from happening. It's sad to lose someone we know, and especially ones that we're close to. But again as I always remind myself and my other friends, our loss is actually heaven's gain. Let's pray his soul rests in peace. Insya'allah.. ~Al-fatihah~

As for yourself.. do take good care, okay.. :)

Che Man, what really sadden me is the fact that we parted on not so nice term. remember he was supposed to come to Kak Long's for raya do and he failed to turn up? He texted me at 9pm and said that he had to go to his brother's and left the mobile at home as he was rushing out. And I didn't believe him. Today, Kak Long said probably he was sick the whole day that day that's why the no-show......I didn't tell him that I'll be coming here. I hope he did not try to reach me on my Maxis.....and I don't want to check on that....

Che Man, when and if we have to part for whatever reason, let's part with a smile no matter how hard it is. And I promise you that.

that last part you wrote.. "when and if we have to part for whatever reason, let's part with a smile no matter how hard it is. And I promise you that." That's really touching... hmm...

Xis, when a dear friend departed for good without even proper goodbyes, it rocks your world and makes you think hard about what's really crucial in your life. Human relations. That's it. Not material possessions, which in the end will not follow you. Hopefully we will always remember that - in good times, bad times - that's what family and friends are for. Hope to see your smile, one day :) Take it easy
